The Burnette Family

For two decades, Matt Burnette has been a devoted and passionate teacher at Metrolina Christian Academy, a ministry of First Baptist Church Indian Trail, leaving a lasting impact on countless students and profoundly guiding them in their faith. Matt and his wife, Lori, have three children; Senior Jeb, 10th grader Jessie and 4 year old June. This united effort between Central Church Charlotte, MCA and FBCIT is dedicated to financially supporting the Burnette family as Matt courageously battles ALS, to lift them up and assure them that they are not alone.

Be A Burn

Affectionately known by his students as "Burn," this initiative embodies the selfless spirit of Matt Burnette.  To "Be A Burn" is to embrace the qualities that Matt has always exemplified: passion, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to others. It’s about lighting up the world around us with acts of kindness, generosity, and faith – just as "Burn" does for his family, students, colleagues, church, and community. We will come together on May 8 to show this family that the same dedication and spirit Matt has selflessly shared with many is reflected back at them.
